“Hush little baby..”
She sat fuming.
The lights had only just come on and that instance of momentary blindness still left her dazed.
There were toys all over the floor.
She grimaced. And then sighed.
“I’ll have to pick these up again… for the 22nd time atleast” she mused. It was the first thing she’d seen arriving home.
Childhood. A long lost memory despite her relative youth.
Warm water had quenched that semi-sweet taste of the peanut butter sandwich she’d had.
I’d have liked a coke to be honest she looked to the ceiling.
Grey. She hated that color. Reminded her of that chauvinistic movie that had dominated the city’s cinema a while back.
50 shades of shit she thought… it brought a rare smile to her face.
At least I’m smiling. After that debacle at the airport, lord knows we need more smiles in our lives.
I’ll sing tonight. Or maybe not.
Again the thoughts raced through her mind.
I’ll sing. She smiled. Then put her phone down as the loves of her life surrounded her.
