“Sometimes I’m Ok can mean something else”
Her alarm had beeped midnight only a few minutes before.
A slight cramp on her shoulder causing her to shift uncomfortably.
Oh the joys of childhood she smiled, as her son lay curled on her left.
Hes turning 8 in September she thought. How time flies.
The night had been spent reading.
It was becoming a common pastime with the pandemic wreaking havoc across the capital.
She rolled her eyes. And licked her dry lips. The glass of water she’d had doing nothing to dissipate the evenings heat.
Two years ago it had been avengers. Tonight it was the otherside.
Zac Snyder’s Justice League was the talk of the week.
“I hope it’s good” she thought. “Lord knows I need something happening in my life.”
She felt.. if not at peace… content.
“Ok I guess” was her most common response to such questions.
